CANCELLED
COVID-19 UPDATES / OKTOBERFEST LADYSMITH
March 25, 2021
Dear Oktoberfest Family.
It is with a heavy heart that we once again announce the cancellation of Oktoberfest Ladysmith 2021 festivities.
Our priority is the health and safety of all Oktoberfest attendees and volunteers, and the ongoing COVID-19 crisis demands that we take extreme measures.
The decision to cancel was very difficult and not taken lightly. After much deliberation, the board felt it was necessary and the right decision to make for everyone involved. Currently, there is no clear timeline on when public gathering restrictions, social distancing practices, and self-isolation measures will be lifted.
Since our festival is planned out well in advance, and given the largely social nature of our event, it is incredibly difficult to adequately prepare as we approach the final months of preparation. Especially while there is still so much unknown and so much at stake. And so, in the interest of protecting the health and safety of our Oktoberfest community, we made the decision to do our part and help provide all frontline workers every possible chance to contain this pandemic. To all the frontline workers, we thank you for your dedication and extraordinary courage shown during these difficult times and hope you stay safe.
We must work together to prioritize public health. We care deeply about our community, and we are committed to doing what is necessary to protect the health of that community so we may ensure it returns stronger than ever.
We look forward to celebrating our 35th year of Oktoberfest Ladysmith next year, September 30 to October 2, 2022.
Our attendees, vendors, musicians, volunteers and sponsors help bring our site alive. We cannot wait to celebrate our 35th with you next year. Thank you for being an integral part of Oktoberfest.
We hope you all stay healthy and continue to take care of yourselves and each other.
With love,
Your Oktoberfest Ladysmith board of directors
